RIVER MARKET ARTSRiver Market is excited to launch our Community Artist in Residence Program. During the 6 to 12 months program, the artist will create a public art work to be installed or presented at the market. The process of creating this work should engage community participation. This year's program theme is "Food and Play". The Artist will receive an artist fee as well as work space at the market. We are looking for one super talented artist who is based in the Metro Vancouver Area. The artist should have passion and experience working with the community, especially with children and youth. He or she is expected to commit to working at least 20 hours a week at the market. This time could be dedicated to work on the public art project or his or her own art. The artist should place an emphasis on engaging with the community on weekends. Click here for more info and to download the River Market Arts application form. The grand-prize winning poem, judged by a separate panel of judges, will be featured on River Market in a very grand way.
